Lady Lions sweep pair from Ladycats

The Blanchester seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams were defeated by New Richmond in a pair of games on Wednesday.

The eighth grade Ladycats lost a nailbiter 46-40. Olivia Potts had 18 points, which included a pair of three-pointers. She also had three steals, an assist and a rebound. Hailey Mulvihill had nine points, 10 rebounds, six blocked shots and three steals.

Ainsley Whitaker had seven points, nine rebounds, two assists and four steals. Kaidyn Hamm scored five points, came up with four steals and handed out an assist. Madi Tipton finished with three rebounds and an assist. Destiny Blankenbeckler had two rebounds, two assists, a steal and four blocked shots.

In the seventh grade game, Kaylee Coyle led Blanchester with six points, three rebounds and a steal. Shelbie Panetta had two points, two rebounds and a steal. Layla Winemiller scored on a free throw. Hope Blankenbeckler had two rebounds and three steals.

Macey Waldron contributed for rebounds and seven steals. Gracie Roy posted a rebound. Payton Johnson had four rebounds while Abbey Irwin had three rebounds. Nevaeh Griffin grabbed a rebound.
