WILMINGTON — Demonstrations, information and free samples will be on hand when Wilmington College holds its annual Community Health & Fitness Fair on March 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the indoor turf field in WC’s Center for Sport Sciences off Elm St.

Brush up on tips for Children’s Dental Health Month

The American Dental Association recognizes February as National Children’s Dental Health Month. Dental care starting at an early age is very important. Early childhood tooth decay has become the most common chronic childhood disease. According to the ADA, more than 40% of children have tooth decay by the time they reach kindergarten. Kids who suffer from poor dental health are three times more likely to miss school due to dental pain.

Mobile Mammogram serves county residents

Clinton County Community Action Program, in partnership with the James Cancer Center, the Ohio State University, Wexner Center provided mammograms to 19 Clinton County residents recently. The Mobile Mammogram will return on March 29. To schedule an appointment, Clinton County residents can call 614-293-6924.

Johannes receives Health Commissioner’s Award

The 2022 Health Commissioner’s Award recipient is the Clinton County Health District (CCHD) Environmental Health Director Matt Johannes. This annual award recognizes an employee for their loyalty, dedication and service to the CCHD, the Clinton County Board of Health and the citizens of Clinton County. Johannes will be retiring from his role as the environmental health director on Feb. 28, 2023, the position he has held since 1996. Johannes is pictured with Health Commissioner Pamela Walker-Bauer.
