Ronald L. Ash and Sue Ellen (Cave) Ash of Wilmington are celebrating their 50th anniversary. They were married Sept. 18, 1965 at Fairmount UCC Church, Wichita, Kansas with a reception in Whitewater, Kansas. They are the parents of Ellen Elizabeth Ash and husband Eric Lee, and David Ash.

Ronald served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from ABX Air Freight in Wilmington. The couple met while Ronald was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base.

Sue Ellen is a former employee of Yale’s Wedding Service, Wichita, and District Manager of Evenson’s Hallmark. Both worked as Scout leaders. Ron is a member of the VFW and church and community choir, and Sue Ellen church works at the historical society.

After Ronald retired from the Air Force, in 1982 they made their home in Texas until 1989, when they moved to Wilmington.
