SSCC team receives marketing award Southern State Community College's communications staff were presented with five Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) during the organization's District III Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Oct. 16. The annual awards ceremony recognizes outstanding achievement in marketing communications for community, junior and technical colleges.
Southern State Community College received a Gold Medallion Award (Division A) in the Nifty and Thrifty category for its 2005-06 Cultural Events brochure; a Gold Medallion Award (Division A) in the Advertisement Series category for its 2005-06 ad campaign "Shattering Myths for 30 Years;" a Silver Medallion Award (Division A) in the Specialty Advertising category for its healthcare gift tote; a Bronze Medallion Award (Division A) in the Annual Report category for its 2006 Report to the Community; and a Bronze Medallion Award (Division A) in the Outdoor Advertising category for its 2005-06 billboard "Shattering Myths for 30 Years."
The creative team at SSCC's Communications Office includes the director, Annie Rankin, and the coordinator, Elizabeth Burkard. Among the office's many responsibilities are marketing, advertising, public relations, graphic design, web coordination, media relations, news writing, publications and promotional items coordination.
