Product Recall: Thomas & Friends railroad toys, Cannondale bikes, Back to Nature crackers
BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
The following recalls have been announced:
-About 1.5 million Thomas & Friends wooden railway toys, imported and distributed by the RC2 Corp., because paint on the toys contains lead that can be toxic if ingested by young children. No injuries have been reported. The toy recall includes wooden vehicles, buildings and other train set parts sold from January 2005 through June 2007. Details: by phone at 866-725-4407; by Web at http://recalls.rc2.com and http://www.cpsc.gov.
-About 6,700 mountain bicycles with Lefty Speed SL and Lefty Speed DLR forks, manufactured by Cannondale Bicycle Corp., because the forks can break during use, causing the rider to lose control of the bicycle, fall and suffer injuries. The company has received 15 reports of the bicycle forks breaking, including five reports of injuries including a broken collarbone, a concussion, broken ribs and bruises. Details: by phone at 800-245-3872; by Web at http://www.cannondale.com or http://www.cpsc.gov.
-The Back to Nature Foods Co. is recalling 26,472 boxes of its Sesame Ginger Rice Thins crackers, with a 'best when used by' date of May 16, 2007, because no milk ingredients are declared on the boxes' labels. Back to Nature, a brand of Kraft Foods Inc., is recalling the boxes because a small number of them were manufactured with milk, which can cause a severe or life-threatening reaction in those allergic to milk. Only the 4-ounce boxes that have the UPC code 59283-10013 and the May 16 expiration date are being recalled. The company has received two consumer reports of allergic reactions. Details: by phone at 800-433-9361.
