Members of the Rachael Ray crew, along with Allen Willoughby of Sugartree Ministries, recently visited Country View Pet Hospital to donate bags of Rachael Ray dog food to the pet food drive. The pet food drive is being held throughout the holidays in an attempt to help those who are less fortunate to feed their furry friends during these difficult times. Other businesses participating in the drive are: Janet’s Hallmark, Ken Gosney Photography, Buckley Brothers, and Peelle and Lundy Realtors. Along with the Wilmington News Journal, these businesses are working together to help pets stay with their families instead of having to be relinquished to shelters.
Country View is also starting an “Angel Fund” at the hospital to help offset pet care bills for those families facing uncertain times. Public donations will support the fund, as well as donated time from the hospital staff. The fund will be used as needed on a case by case basis. For inquiries about the pet food drive or “Angel Fund,” contact the hospital at 382-PETS. Bags of pet (dog, cat, bird, rabbit, etc.) food can be dropped off at any of the participating businesses.
