WILMINGTON — Four members of the Wilmington Middle School Tree Club helped with a beautification project by planting six trees and shrubs on a vacant lot on the 300 block of North Spring Street owned by the Clinton County Land Bank.

Chris Hodgson, member of the Wilmington Tree Commission, instructed club members on the proper method to plant a tree and to apply mulch.

Three middle school teachers assisted with the after-school project and all plant material was donated.

The Tree Club welcomes volunteering in future environmental community service projects throughout the city.
