WHS art students excel

WILMINGTON—Ninety Wilmington High School students recently submitted more than 200 pieces of artwork to the 15th Annual South Central Ohio League Art Exhibit and Competition hosted by Hillsboro High School.

Inspired by the theme “A Stroke of Genius,” students competed in the categories of photography, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, artisan crafting, drawing, painting and printmaking.

Receiving honors for WHS were: Morgan Collner, first place in photography; Marietta Hoefler, first place and honorable mention in drawing; Molly Boatman, third place in printmaking and honorable mention in sculpture; McKinley Law, third place in mixed media; Katie Davis, third place in sculpture; Alix Holmes, honorable mention in painting; Mary Putman, honorable mention in drawing; and Emma Ballein, honorable mention in mixed media.
