Grand Jury indicts woman for alleged theft from a protected class (elderly)

WILMINGTON — A Clarksville area woman was indicted on a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle, theft from an elderly person (a protected class), and six counts of perjury.

Shawna M. Pigg, 39, of Clarksville is alleged to have committed grand theft of a 1999 Mercury car, as well as obtained control over land parcels valued at $65,000, and committed perjury “when the statement is material,” according to the filed indictment.

The perjury is alleged to have occurred on Sept. 14, 2018 (one count), on Sept. 15, 2018 (three counts), and on Dec. 17, 2018 (two counts). The counts of perjury are all third-degree felony offenses.

The theft of the land, a second-degree felony, is alleged to have occurred on Dec. 17, 2018; while the grand theft of the car is alleged to have occurred on Sept. 14, 2018.

At the same session, the Clinton County Grand Jury indicted Kyle D. Huston, 27, of Wilmington, on charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle and of receiving stolen property, both fourth-degree felony offenses. Both counts stem from an alleged Sept. 20, 2019 incident in Clinton County involving a 2006 Honda Accord.

Below are additional indictments for alleged crimes in Clinton County, issued the same day by the grand jury:

• Porter J. Kilmer, 36, of the Lynchburg area, was indicted on a count of aggravated possession of drugs.

• Michael D. Williams, 30, of Mowrystown, was indicted on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and one count of possessing heroin.

• Terry E. Ball Jr., 33, with an at-large address, was indicted on a count of burglary and on trespassing in a habitation when a person is likely to be present.

• Taylor J. Cooper, 28, of Wilmington, was indicted on one count of felony domestic violence.

• Sara E. Cochran, 32, of Wilmington, was indicted on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs.

• Clarence F. Tucker, 46, of the Clarksville area, was indicted on charges of having weapons while under disability, theft, and grand theft.

• Jeffrey C. Gibson, 53, with an at-large address, was indicted on one count of theft.

• Justin W. Blackburn, 27, of Midland, was indicted on one count of theft.

• Richard Joseph Smith, 29, of Wilmington, was indicted on one count of failing to appear in court.

• Chadwick J. Price, 41, of the Hillsboro area, was indicted on two counts of failing to appear in court.
