LEBANON, Ohio — One man is dead and a juvenile critically injured after a shooting near Lebanon.

At 2:48 a.m. Friday, deputies received a 911 call to 1869 Oregonia Road, Turtlecreek Township, near Lebanon for reported prowlers, according to a news release from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives have determined that minutes before this call was received, there was gunfire outside, yet near the residence, which left one 18-year-old male dead and one juvenile critically wounded, neither of whom lived at this residence.

Killed was 18-year-old Mason Nicholas Trudics of Centerville, a student of the Warren County Career Center, police said.

“This is a rapidly evolving homicide investigation spanning multiple jurisdictions,” the release stated. “Detectives have and will continue to conduct interviews with cooperating parties and as credible suspect information is available, we will share when appropriate.”

“We have been in close contact with school administration and they are taking every step to provide for the students’ welfare during this difficult time.”

The sheriff’s office is not releasing any of the juvenile victim’s information or a suspected motive at this time.
