WPD reports: Thefts, assaults investigated

WILMINGTON — The following report is generated from incident reports provided by the Wilmington Police Department. All those arrested are presumed innocent until possibly found guilty in court. Charges may be dropped or changed in court.

Wilmington police recently processed the following reports:

• At 8:06 p.m. on Dec. 9, an officer reported a 37-year-old male advised he was “going to catch a case” and shoot him around a gas station East Main Street. The caller advised his child was with him on scene as well. Police talked to the officer who stated he had arrested the suspect on Dec. 7. He pulled into the gas station with his family and the suspect approached him saying that he remembered him and stated he was “not afraid to hit a woman.” The officer advised the suspect was under the influence of drugs. The officer did not want to file any charges. The responding officer said he would give a statement.

• Police received a report of an assault on North Walnut Street at 9:43 p.m. on Dec. 14. The report does not list the details of the incident or the victim, but a 34-year-old female was listed as a suspect.

• At 12:19 p.m. on Dec. 9, police received a report of an assault taking place at a Xenia Avenue residence. A 32-year-old female is listed as the suspect.

• At 6:53 p.m. on Dec. 9, police received a call of a female subject “swinging fists, yelling and screaming” at a bar on South South Street. Upon arrival, police made contact with the 32-year-old female who stated she had been drinking since 3 p.m. and was “not causing any problems.” The bar wanted her to be trespassed.

• At 11:27 a.m. on Dec. 13, a 33-year-old Franklin male stopped by a business on North South Street to check on some construction issues. In the short time he was away from his truck, unknown subject(s) stole his handheld red Husky toolbox from the truck. The box contained pipe wrenches, pipe dope, and gauges that the victim uses for his job.

• At 5:40 a.m. on Dec. 9, a 27-year-old male reported his black 2017 Carryone trailer from his residence on Williams Drive.

• At 5:51 p.m. on Dec. 9, a 20-year-old male reported his PlayStation 4 and ATT tablet were stolen from his residence on Columbus Street.

• At 10:32 a.m. on Dec. 14, a 30-year-old male reported the window of his vehicle was damaged while it was at the 300 block of Maple Ridge Drive. According to the report, the rear glass was shattered and the passenger rear window had been damaged.

• At 8:39 p.m. on Dec. 12, a 45-year-old male reported his black and blue Road Master bicycle was stolen from his residence on Clark Street. A 40-year-old male was listed as a suspect.
