FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Ohio police officers responding to a domestic dispute shot and killed a man Friday after the man produced a gun, police said.

The shooting happened shortly before noon on Friday in Fairfield in southwestern Ohio, the department said, calling the situation an “on-going domestic dispute between a couple.” A witness told WXIX-TV in Cincinnati the shooting happened in an apartment complex parking lot.

The state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called in to investigate the shooting. Three Fairfield officers have been placed on administrative leave during that investigation.

Fairfield is about 20 miles north of Cincinnati.
