The next free Third Friday “Party at the Mural” is this set for Friday, July 17 and it promises to be an evening of dancin’ in the streets with ’50s/’60s/country band, Rewind. There will also be a classic car cruise-in and food and drinks to share with your family and friends.

It will be Reunion Night, so bring your classmates for a great time catching up.

The party starts at 6 pm. with the car show and food and drinks are available to purchase. The band starts playing at 7:30 p.m.

Rewind’s members include Dan Mongold, Bill Jenkins, Paul Shivers, Joe Spicer and Bill Spicer. Rewind plays many of the traditional favorites that everyone enjoys, but they also play lesser-known songs. The band was originally formed by Dan Mongold more than 40 years ago and has undergone a few name changes and has had several different members, all of which resulted with the group known today as Rewind.

Come relax, enjoy the music, some dancing and let your mind wander back to an earlier time when life was a little simpler.

The event is free and open to the public. The Mural Parking Lot is located at the corner of Mulberry and Main streets behind the General Denver Hotel, 81 W.Main St., in downtown Wilmington.

The Third Friday Series is hosted by Main Street Wilmington, a non-profit organization whose mission is to cultivate downtown Wilmington as a center of interest for commerce, culture, social activities and entertainment.
