20 sentenced in municipal court

The following report is compiled using a disposition report provided by the Clinton County Municipal Court. The information includes the name of the defendant, age, location (if listed), charge disposed, fine, court costs assessed, jail sentence and any special conditions. Municipal Judge Mike Daugherty oversees the court, which handles misdemeanors, traffic cases and some civil cases. Only the criminal misdemeanors are included here.

The following were found guilty or pled guilty to crimes during the week of April 4 through April 8:

• John Morgan, 24, of Sabina, theft and possession of drug abuse instrument, sentenced 210 days jail (150 days suspended), assessed $230 court costs, write letter of apology, pay restitution, no contact with victim business, license suspended for six months. A separate charge of theft against Morgan was dismissed.

• Christopher Harnish, 28, of Wilmington, two counts theft, sentenced 60 days jail (30 days suspended), fined $500, assessed $230 court costs, write letters of apology to victims, no contact with victim business, complete eight hours community service at city landfill.

• Deno Alvarado, 31, of Wilmington, theft and domestic violence, sentenced 360 days jail (suspended), fined $2,000, assessed $230 court costs, no contact with a certain person, must complete eight hours community service at city landfill, write letter of apology, supervised probation.

• Micah Waits, 35, of Blanchester, assault, sentenced 180 days jail, assessed $115 court costs. Charges of criminal damages, domestic violence and resisting arrest against Waits were dismissed. Waits was also bound over to Clinton County Court of Common Pleas on a $25,000 bond for a charge of alleged domestic violence.

• Jessica Dickerson, 26, of Blanchester, possession of drug abuse instrument, sentenced 90 days jail, fined $750, assessed $115 court costs, probation to assess Dickerson for treatment alternative. If Dickerson complies, her fine may be suspended.

• James Storer Jr., 32, possession of drug abuse instrument, sentenced 180 days jail, fined $1,000, assessed $115 court costs, license suspended for six months, probation to assess Storer for possible treatment alternatives. If Storer complies, the court may suspend $500 of his fine. A separate charge of possessing drug abuse instruments against Storer was dismissed.

• Brent Brewer, 28, of Hillsboro, possession of marijuana and theft, sentenced 30 days jail (suspended), fined $200, assessed $230 court costs, license suspended six months, unsupervised probation, eight hours community service, must write letter of apology to victim business.

• Jeffrey Stoops, 48, of Wilmington, domestic violence, sentenced 180 days jail (150 days suspended), fined $250, assessed $115 court costs.

• Sebastian Friend, 22, of Wilmington, domestic violence, sentenced 180 days jail, fined $1,000, assessed $115 court costs.

• Hunter Valentine, 18, of Martinsville, possession of marijuana, fined $100, assessed $115 court costs.

• Kenneth Spulock, 36, of Clarksville, menacing, fined $50, assessed $115 court costs.

• Jennifer Hall, 23, possession of drug paraphernalia, sentenced 30 days jail, assessed $115 court costs, unsupervised probation, no similar offense for one year, license suspended for six months.

• James Baxla, 27, of Lynchburg, theft, sentenced one day jail, fined $100, assessed $115 court costs, pay restitution, write letter of apology to victim business.

• Jacqueline Coleman, 37, of Wilmington, possession of drug paraphernalia, sentenced 30 days jail, license suspended for six months. Coleman was found indigent; her fines and court costs were waived.

• Todd Burkhart, 33, Blanchester, unauthorized use of property, sentenced to pay UDF for coffee cup, assessed $115 court costs.

• Justin Dixon, 23, of Toledo, possession of marijuana, fined $100, assessed $100 court costs.

• Caitlin Howell, 22, of Wilmington, disorderly conduct, fined $50, assessed $115 court costs.

• Edward Gee II, 22, of Wilmington, possession of marijuana, fined $50, assessed $115 court costs.

• Danielle Hubbell, 28, of Wilmington, criminal damages, sentenced 90 days jail (suspended), fined $50, assessed $115 court costs, no similar offense for one year, unsupervised probation.

• Brandon Powell, 23, of Blanchester, possession of drug abuse instrument, sentenced 90 days jail (suspended), fined $750, assessed $115 court costs, supervised probation. If Powell complies, the court may suspend his fine.

The following had charges that were dismissed:

• Sheila Cordell, 49, of Wilmington, telephone harassment; charge dismissed.

• Caroline Smith, 19, of Blanchester, underage consumption; charge dismissed.

• Richard Piatt, 35, of Sabina, domestic violence; charge dismissed, pay court costs (amount not listed).

• Chelsea Burge, 24, of Sabina, possession of drug abuse instruments; charge dismissed.

Also in Clinton County Municipal Court:

• Bradley Bennett, 29, of Wilmington, charged with alleged possession of heroin, bound over to Clinton County Court of Common Pleas on a $50,000 bond.
