COLUMBUS (AP) — Gas prices around Ohio are down slightly from a week ago.

The state average was $2.16 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. The average price in Ohio this time last week was $2.29.

The national average price in Monday’s survey was $2.21, only a cent below the national price at the same time last week.

The national average this time last year was $2.66. Ohioans were paying an average of about $2.51 at the same time last year.

Experts say ample gasoline supplies and relatively lower crude oil costs are helping to sustain year-over-year savings.
