Wilmington News Journal reporter Nathan Kraatz earned first place in Ohio for Best Enterprise Reporting in Division I for his 2015 series “Heroin From All Sides.” He received the award Sunday at the annual Ohio Associated Press Media Editors (APME) meeting and awards banquet held at The Hilton Columbus at Easton Town Center.

The competition’s judges said Kraatz’s work was an “Excellent series coming at a heroin problem from every angle. The stories are well-written, informative and explain the emotional and economic costs of drug issues in a community.”

All Ohio newspapers that are members of AP are eligible for the annual competition.
