Brown Road to close June 15

Beginning Monday, June 15, weather permitting, Brown Road will be closed for a bridge replacement, according to the Office of the Clinton County Engineer. This culvert is located between SR 350 and Batson Road in Washington Township, Clinton County. The last address that will be accessible from the north (Batson Road) is 2718 Brown Road. There are no houses between SR 350 and the bridge.

The project is anticipated to take five weeks.

Martinsville Alumni annual dinner meeting

The Martinsville Alumni Association will hold its annual dinner meeting Saturday, June 13 at the Senior Citizens Center on North Nelson Road. A social hour will be from 5-6 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. This year they will be honoring the class of 1965. This class attended Martinsville through their sophomore year but because of consolidation of the schools, they graduated from Wilmington.

The association is in need of information on Maria Partida, Albert Partida, Beverly Terrell, Linda Williams,Leroy Sanderson, Donald Straight, David Conger, and Paul Terrell. If you did not receive an invitation but would like to attend, please call Janet Stanforth at 937-383-0691.

Kingman Alumni announces banquet

Kingman High School Alumni invite all Kingman graduates, administrators, teachers, Kingman attendees and guests to the 106th annual banquet on Saturday, June 20. The gathering will be held in the Senior Citizens Center, 717 N. Nelson Ave., Wilmington. Social time will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner being served by the Senior Citizens Center promptly at 6p.m.

The honored classes for the evening are 1925, 1935, 1945, 1955, 1965 (graduates from Clinton-Massie who attended Kingman). A short response from each class will be the evening’s entertainment. There are always funny stories from years gone by. A memorial service will be conducted to recognize those who have passed away this year. Class composites will be on display along with other memorabilia.

Locals on Akron dean’s list

Local students who earned dean’s list honors for the spring semester at the University of Akron:
