DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP — A Blanchester-area man is charged with an attempted robbery of a Warren County Walmart and with robbing Yankee Candle, both on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) arrested Jaron Keith Brock, 26, of Blanchester. He was charged with robbery, attempted robbery, and possessing drug abuse instruments, according to news releases from the WCSO.

Law enforcement alleges Brock attempted to rob a cashier at the Walmart on Bowen Drive in Deerfield Township. The suspect told the cashier to give him all the money or he would kill her, the sheriff’s office stated.

The clerk told him no, and the suspect left the store, added the news release.

The suspect did not show a weapon or make a comment he had a weapon at either location, according to the WCSO.

About two hours later, the same suspect approached a cashier in Yankee Candle at 5873 Deerfield Blvd. and demanded money, alleged the sheriff’s office.

At Yankee Candle, the suspect said he didn’t want to hurt anyone, the release added.

The Yankee Candle cashier gave him money from her register, and the suspect reportedly fled on foot from the business.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for assistance on the case. The suspect was identified by a tip from the community, stated the WCSO.

According to the records archive located on the Clinton County Clerk of Courts website, Brock has no felony record in Clinton County.

According to court records located on the Clinton County Municipal Court website, Jaron K. Brock of Blanchester (no age provided) was convicted of possessing marijuana, a minor misdemeanor charge, in a December 2011 case.
