Danica Henderson and her Shetland Sheepdog compete in the Dog Agility competition of the 2016 Clinton County Fair, which ends Saturday. For more photos from the fair, see inside today’s News Journal; for photos and information from Friday’s and Saturday’s livestock sales, see Tuesday’s News Journal.

For the butter shaking contest, teams of two participants shake covered jars that contain heavy whipping cream until the cream turns into butter. In the Cloverbuds division, Wade Smith, 7, left foreground, vigorously shakes a glass container and will hand the jar off to Mallory Thomason, 7, right foreground, when his arms begin to tire. The name of the twosome is Butter-Shaking Astros.

The Tony Grapevine Memorial Showmanship Sweepstakes honored the Top Showman from six species: Swine – Jay Schneider; Horse – Taylor Thatcher; Beef – Andrew Davis, also the overall winner; Sheep – Craig Schiff; Dairy – Sara Quallen; and Goat – Jacob Miller.
