BATAVIA —A recent Blanchester High School graduate has been charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, a second-degree felony, in the death of her friend in a June 29 two-car crash in Clermont County.

Autumn Noelle Neil, 18, of Pleasant Plain and a 2016 Blanchester graduate, also faces charges of third-degree felony Vehicular Homicide and first-degree misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, according to the Clermont County Court of Common Pleas website. Indictments were handed down Thursday.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at around 10:30 p.m. June 29 Neil was driving a 1998 Honda sedan that went left of center and crashed head-on into a 2007 Volkswagen sedan.

Neil’s passenger, Sydney Blevins, 18, also a 2016 Blanchester graduate, suffered life-threatening injuries. After nearly a month on life support and several surgeries at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Blevins died July 25.

Neil had serious injuries; the driver of the Volkswagen, Liza Haehnle, 18, of Milford, had minor injuries, according to the OSHP.

Neil was scheduled to appear Friday before Clermont County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jerry McBride, according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s website.

Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney D. Vincent Faris did not return calls for comment Friday.
