CCSO: Crystal meth found at PW home

PORT WILLIAM — Close to a pound of crystal meth was seized at a residence in this small village, as well as LSD and prescription pain-killers, according to police.

Charges are pending against Stephen Travis McManima, 25, of Port William, said Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Detective Douglas Eastes. McManima was arrested for allegedly violating bond out of Warren County Common Pleas Court, and was transported from Port William to Warren County to be incarcerated.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was assisting the Warren County Common Pleas Court’s probation department to check on McManima at his Main Street address in Port William Monday night and into the early hours of Tuesday, Eastes said.

During the check of McManima’s living quarters, officers found a large amount of crystal methamphetamine, plus prescription medication, a bulk amount of LSD, some marijuana and evidence of drug trafficking, according to the detective.

The street value of the crystal meth is about $45,000 to $50,000, according to Major Brett Prickett of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, who heads up the detective section.

The prescription medicine was mostly pain medication, Eastes said.

The local charges will be filed after lab results are in hand, a process that will help determine which degree of felonies McManima will receive, according to the officials.

Reportedly, there were children at the house, something what would elevate a charge to a more serious level.

McManima’s case in Warren County is drug-related, too, said the Clinton County law enforcement officials.

Eastes and Prickett anticipate the case will be presented to a Clinton County grand jury.

Eastes requested that residents who have information about possible drug activity in the county give the sheriff’s office a call at 937-382-1611 or visit the website at clintonsheriff.com where there is a crime tip line on the right-hand side of the home page.

“We’re interested in working with people who want to assist in fighting the war on drugs,” said Eastes.
