LANCASTER, OHIO — The Clinton County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CCCVB) walked away with six awards at The Ohio Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (OACVB) 19th Annual Awards of Excellence Luncheon in Lancaster, Ohio on Thursday, Sept. 22. MIDDY Awards are presented for destination marketing and tourism development.

The CCCVB earned first-place wins for their 2015 Annual Report and their e-newsletter, and second-place awards for their business-to-business ad “Faces Behind the Places,” the Barn Quilt Geotrail rack card, their 2016 visitors guide and their web site.

“We strive to position ourselves in the marketing landscape to be competitive with other like destinations,” said Debbie Stamper, executive director of the CCCVB. “I am proud to say that we have been successful in this endeavor over the years as evidenced by having our marketing materials scrutinized by industry experts and receiving recognition for our efforts,”

Recipients of the MIDDY Awards are recognized for excellence in objective, results, creativity and originality; 133 entries were received in print, advertising, promotion, social media, TV/video, website and marketing campaign categories. All entries are judged by a team of experts in the communications, advertising, public relations, publications and/or tourism fields from outside of the OACVB membership.

“Convention and visitors bureaus are best described as destination marketing organizations and are responsible for promoting travel and tourism product awareness to visitors,” said Stamper. “Many outstanding marketing projects were submitted for the annual awards competition. Being recognized for a job well-done in the promotion of travel and tourism throughout the state of Ohio is a highly valued achievement.”
