BLANCHESTER — A Blanchester teen stole checks from the Blanchester Movie Theatre, then forged and cashed them, according to Blanchester Police.

BPD Chief Scott Reinbolt said that on Sept. 14, the owner of the Blanchester Movie Theater at 115 E. Main St. reported that several checks for the company account had been stolen; an investigation was opened and assigned to BPD Sgt. Gary Mowen.

According to Mowen, the checks were stolen, then forged and cashed at Tom’s Express Mart in Blanchester.

“Based upon the evidence gathered in the case, probable cause was developed to indicate the checks were stolen and cashed by a 17-year-old employee of Spanky’s Chicken and Biscuits, a restaurant which is located in the same building as the movie theater and is owned by the same man,” Reinbolt stated.

The case has been forwarded to the office of Clinton County Prosecuting Attorney Richard Moyer for consideration of appropriate charges in the Juvenile Court, Reinbolt said.
