Garden club honors locals

McDonald’s restaurant on Rombach Avenue was given the 2016 Community Commercial Landscaping Award. The Wilmington Garden Club maintains gardens at Point Park, Sugar Grove Cemetery and the herb garden at the Clinton County Historical Society. Affiliated with the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs since 1931, it welcomes new members into the club. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 1:30. The Wilmington Garden Club has presented the annual Residential Landscaping Award for 2016 to Mike Batson, 594 N. Mulberry Street. The properties of residential and commercial locations are observed over the course of the summer by the Garden Club Committee members. The Wilmington Garden Club said it appreciates the efforts of individuals to improve and make Wilmington a beautiful city in which to live, work or visit.
