Student artwork in exhibition, auction

Two pieces of artwork by Pearl Spurlock, an eighth-grader at Clinton-Massie Middle School, were accepted by the Susan Faulkner Fine Arts Exhibition and Auction, although only one painting could be chosen by the student for display at the Ohio Association for Gifted Children annual conference. Along with other artwork created by students across Ohio, Spurlock’s painting, “Shark Watching,” was auctioned during the conference in Columbus Oct. 16-18, with half of the highest bid donated to the OAGC Scholarship Fund and the other half going to the student. A “Meet the Artists” reception was held Oct. 16 at the Hilton Easton.
