WPD week in review: 15 arrests

0

The total calls for service ended up for the week at 321. Welfare checks and suspicious person calls were the top incidents being reported.

We had eight theft reports and they mainly consisted of shoplifting incidents. A few exceptions are a trailer that was stolen and some belongings stolen from cars.

A few notable arrests include Austin Buckalew, 22, of Wilmington charged with domestic violence and a handful of others charged with theft. In all we arrested 15 people for the week.

As you can see by recent grand jury indictments and press releases, our patrol and detective sections have been busy. Our detective section is working a few sex crimes that have been reported this week.

Duane Weyand is Wilmington Police Chief.
