Cell Phones for Soldiers at Blan library

BLANChESTER — Do you have any old cell phones in a drawer taking up space? Now you can recycle those old phones and accessories for a good cause.

The Cell Phones for Soldiers (CPS) has a program where people can donate their old cell phones. The old cell phones do not go to the soldiers but are sold for parts, then prepaid phone cards are issued to the soldiers.

The American Legion, Marion Unit 179 is coordinating this program and has set up a new collection box at the Blanchester Public Library. It will be available during regular scheduled hours.

Phones can be any condition or brand and do not need to have batteries; however, leave the battery and charger with it if you still have them.

The CFS has been around since 2004 and has served over 220 million Minutes That Matter to our overseas troops.
