The Wilmington High School Class of 1963 recently celebrated their 70th birthdays with a picnic party at the home of Dr. John and Jennifer Hollon.
The evening before, members gathered for a social get together at Damon’s. The party was catered by McCoy’s Catering with a special cupcake dessert made by class member Barbara Hackney Riggs. A surprise was topping off the dessert with homemade ice cream made on site by the family of Harold Manning.
Following an evening of socializing, friends gathered outside on the patio reminiscent of the drive-in movies to watch a slide show from their 50th reunion and a movie that was made for that occasion. Special guests included Marvin Gregory and Steve Harvey from the Class of 1962 and Jan Hiatt from the Class of 1967. Guests took home plastic wine glasses engraved with the words “Vintage 1945, Aged to Perfection”, for their birthday present.
