30 tons of tires recycled

The Clinton Soil & Water Conservation District held its second large tire recycling event Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Clinton County Engineer’s Office.

Thirty tons of large tires were collected to be recycled from the county. County residents were able to dispose of their tires at an 80 percent discounted rate compared to the cost of disposing of them on their own.

The event was sponsored by the Clinton Soil & Water Conservation District through a grant awarded by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. The Clinton County Solid Waste District office assisted with the event and the county engineer’s office provided the venue for the day.

If anyone was unable to take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of scrap tires, please contact the Clinton Soil & Water Conservation District office at 937-382-2461 for information on similar events in the future.
