In conjunction with an annual recycling promotion, Clinton County commissioners judge Christmas ornaments made by local elementary students. Commissioners are instructed to select winners based on the use of recyclable materials in the ornament and on the creativity. Winners will be recognized at a December event in the county courthouse, and the ornaments will hang on the Christmas tree located on the stairway landing under the courthouse dome. On Wednesday from left are Clinton County Commissioner-elect Brenda Woods, and Commissioners Kerry Steed and Mike Curry.
