BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester Lions Club’s annual Christmas Candy Store is open through Dec. 31. The volunteer-run store is located within Blanchester Jewelry and Collectibles at 105A S. Broadway St. Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A wide assortment of delicious chocolates, hard candies and nuts/pretzel goodies are available including some sugar-free varieties. The most popular Amish-made, cashew brittles will be sold while supplies last.

All proceeds will support ongoing community needs and projects. The Blanchester Lions Club, under the leadership of Lion Tom Kittle, is a service organization that provides local individuals in need the funds to obtain new prescription eyeglasses.

Additionally, members of the club collect used eyeglasses and cases throughout the year to recycle to individuals in other countries. Designated eyeglass collection boxes are located in retail businesses in Blanchester, and donations may be brought to the Christmas Candy Store until the end of the year.

For more information about the Blanchester Lions Club, visit the club’s Facebook page or attend a monthly membership meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Red Zone Restaurant in Blanchester.
