MIDLAND — Authorities found a stolen pickup truck wrecked on Westboro Road after it was stolen.

The 1998 Chevrolet belongs to Andy Zurface and was taken from his residence on A Street in Wilmington Saturday night. According to Zurface’s girlfriend, Katie Bailey, they received a call Sunday night from the Ohio State Highway Patrol saying it had but found and “it was totaled.”

Lt. Stan Jordan of the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Wilmington Post said the suspect had fled on foot and was not apprehended. They do not have a suspect at the time; he said apparently the suspect was injured as there was blood at the scene.

“BCI was there taking a lot of samples,” said Bailey, “so if the person has been in the system before, hopefully they will get a match.”

Bailey asks that if anyone has any information regarding the suspect to call the Wilmington Police Department or the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

She would also like to remind residents, “Make sure everything is locked up tight.”
