Jacob Fields of Blanchester has earned the Boy Scouts of America rank of Eagle Scout. He will be recognized in a ceremony on March 18 at Blanchester Church of Christ.

To earn Scouting’s highest award, Jacob had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop, and complete a major community service project. Jacob’s service project took place at Veran’s Memorial Park in Blanchester. He led a group of adults and Boy Scouts in building three park benches overlooking the playground.

Jacob has been a member of the Boy Scouts organization since the age of 6 and a member of Troop 47 since age 10. He continues to be a part of Troop 47 as an Assistant Scoutmaster.

Jacob is now in his first year at Chatfield College. He is the son of Glenn and Diana Fields. The Scoutmaster for Troop 47 is Shane Ott.
