Pork Pride 4-H elects officers

The Pork Pride 4-H Club held its first meeting of the 2017 season on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Cuba Friends Church, called to order at 6 p.m. with 34 members and parents in attendance.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Bryant Pinkerton while the 4-H Pledge was led by Mikala Hatfield. Upcoming dates and events were discussed along with member registration.

Officer elections were held with Madison Gilbert, President; Johnathan Stewart, Vice President; Mikala Hatfield, Secretary; Bryant Pinkerton, Treasurer; and Christopher Stewart, News Reporter. Duties of the Health and Safety Officer along with the Recreation Officer will be performed by all club members on a rotating basis.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m. with the next meeting scheduled for March 5. Snacks were provided by the Randy Pinkerton family.

The club met again on Sunday, March 5, called to order at 6p.m. by President Madison Gilbert with 35 members and parents in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Christopher Stewart while the 4-H Pledge was led by Madison Gilbert.

Fundraising events and community service ideas were also discussed. Madison Gilbert gave a demonstration involving veterinary medicine while Caleb Cox and Isaiah Fields gave Health and Safety reports along with Recreation reports.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m. with the next meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, March 19. Snacks were provided by the Ebon Louderback family.
