Auditions Set for College-Community Summer Theatre’s Production of The Addams Family

WILMINGTON — Auditions for the College-Community Summer Theatre’s production of the Andrew Lippa musical, The Addams Family, will be held May, 21, 22 and 23, at 7:15 p.m., at Hugh G. Heiland Theatre on Wilmington College’s campus.

Show dates are July 13, 14, 15 and 16.

WC alumnus Cherie Cooper-Darragh is returning as guest director and, along with choreographer Cole Haugh and music director Matt Spradlin, will lead the audition sessions that will result in the selection of actors/singers/dancers for the 20-member cast.

Persons attending the auditions should be 16 years of age and older. Each session will consist of cold readings, singing and dancing. Those auditioning are asked to prepare 32 bars of any contemporary musical theatre song for presentation to the directors. They should bring sheet music for the accompanist. Also, the directors recommend wearing comfortable clothing to accommodate the dance portion of the audition.

Those auditioning may attend as many of the sessions as they wish.

Rehearsals for The Addams Family will begin the first week in June. Additional information is available by contacting the Wilmington College Theatre Department at 937-481-2267.
