BLANCHESTER — The seven-page police incident report on the alleged kidnapping Wednesday of a neighbor by Dennis Dunn reveals that the victim’s mother believes the victim, Jennifer Elliott, 30, was abducted and assaulted previously by Dunn.

According to the Blanchester police interview with the victim’s mother, Gayle Rowe, on Wednesday, she said she believes that her daughter may have been abducted and assaulted by Dunn another time. (Note that in the report, the victim’s last name is spelled two different ways.)

“Rowe explained to me that approximately a year ago Elliott was reported missing and found her in the backyard having a seizure … Rowe said that Elliott is epileptic. Rowe said she then checked the backyard and could not find Elliott. I searched the backyard of 107 Central Ave. and the surrounding areas around the house and could not locate Elliott.

“I asked Rowe if she has any mental disabilities or physical disabilities and Rowe said no. I asked Rowe if Elliot is suicidal and Rowe said no. I asked Rowe if Elliot uses illegal narcotics and Rowe said no.

“Rowe said that she believes that the neighbor, Dennis Dunn, abducted her. I asked what made her think that and Rowe said that when Elliott went missing a year ago she (Elliott) couldn’t remember what happened because of the seizure she had. Rowe said that over the course of the year that Elliott has begun to remember things from that incident. I asked Rowe to explain.

“Rowe said that Elliott started remembering that she was in the backyard (107 Central Ave.) smoking a cigarette and remembers being hit in the back of the head. Rowe said that Elliott said she remembered being inside of a small building or shelter of some sort.

“Rowe said that a day after Elliot was found, Rowe found Elliot’s shoes and necklace in the backyard and that they were not there before as officers had searched the backyard at the time and did not find those items. Rowe said that when Elliot was found she was taken to the hospital and the doctors said Elliot had a concussion, a black eye, and broken ribs, and told Rowe it appeared that Elliot had been assaulted. I asked Rowe if she ever reported any of that to police and Rowe said that after Elliott was found she did not report any further information.

“I asked Rowe how she knows that Dunn abducted Elliott at that time. Rowe said that Dunn stalks Elliott and has a romantic infatuation with Elliott. I asked Rowe if Elliott and Dunn are in a relationship and Rowe said no. Rowe described text messages sent to Elliott by Dunn saying that Dunn was jealous of another guy.”

In the report, the victim, Elliott, is listed at 4’11” in height and weighs 90 pounds. She was reportedly treated and released Wednesday at Clinton Memorial Hospital.

Dunn is incarcerated in the Clinton County Jail on $1 million bond, set Thursday by Clinton County Municipal Court Judge Mike Daugherty.
