Muñoz Foundation honors WHS student

The Anthony Muñoz Foundation has redefined the meaning of Straight “A”s with a scholarship that awards high school students who are pursuing Academic excellence, Athletic Achievement, is Actively serving in the community while possessing a strong Ambition, a winning Attitude, and the ability to overcome Adversity.

Nine female and nine male Tri-State students — including senior Chad Davis of Wilmington High School — were recently awarded a $2,000 scholarship.

All high school students with a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average and in the Foundation’s Impact Region are eligible. All students nominated receive a letter of recognition signed by Anthony Muñoz.

The 2017 Straight “A” Luncheon was Tuesday, April 25 at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, hosted by WCPO TV 9 Sports Director John Popovich. The luncheon celebrated the finalists and their Most Influential Teachers.
