Clinton County eateries inspected

WILMINGTON — The following information is obtained from the Clinton County Health Department and is compiled from inspection reports.

Violations are either critical or non-critical. Critical violations are more likely to contribute to food contamination, illness or an environmental health hazard, including inadequate cooking of food items or poor personal hygiene.

The following restaurants or food service establishments were inspected recently and violations/comments include:

• Angilo’s Pizza, 142 S. Broadway St., Blanchester, April 12. Verification employees know when to report illness unavailable. Provided info sheet. Recommended sign-off sheet. Level 1 and Level 2 certification unavailable for RFE. Cinnamon sugar mixture, tray of dry spices, etc. missing common name labels. Sponge found in prep sink and in sanitizer bucket. Thermometer missing in True 2-door cooler, 3-foot prep cooler, etc. Probe thermometer unavailable. Quat sanitizer test strips unavailable. Equipment holding TCS foods not able to maintain safe temperatures. Vent hood panels have dust, grease accumulations. Sides of prep cooler, fryers have food debris accumulations. Hand sink was blocked by shelving storing “dirty” dishes. Trash can near 3 sink had food debris accumulations. Observed grease buckets near grease dumpster with grease accumulations. Exit door of storage room is not sealed when closed (can see light from outside). At start of inspection, hand soap was unavailable at hand sink. Please re-post handwashing sign. Covered trash can (lid) missing in public restroom. Floors near 3 sink, observed debris accumulations. Comments: Ansul tag/fire safety equipment has date of 2015.

Critical: Carton of raw chicken shell eggs stored above RTE foods in reach-in cooler. Several TCS foods found above 41°F — ranch, wing sauce, chicken salad, sliced tomato, shred cheese, sliced turkey, cottage cheese, banana peppers, diced ham. Several RTE TCS foods missing date marks (pulled pork, vegetables, chicken, etc.).

• Taco Bell, 1701 Rombach, Wilmington, April 13. Complaint/Follow-up. Received complaint regarding patron who visited facility on 4/12/17 at 12:15 p.m. Patron stated that they ordered 3-topping nachos and added guacamole. Patron stated food tasted bad as they were eating it. They stopped eating and in 2-3 hours they fell ill. At around 10 p.m. patron had diarrhea and dry heaves. Spoke with manager. All temperatures on nachos were good. Employees using gloves while preparing food. Proper dating was in place. No issues with food product contained in nachos and guacamole.

Follow-up: The violation of 3.4 has been corrected. All products in walk-in were properly labeled and dated. Thank you.

• Murphy Theatre, 50 W. Main St., Wilmington, April 20. Test strips unavailable to test sanitizer in the 3-compartment sink.

• Trula’s General Store, 384 W. SR 350, Wilmington, April 19. No procedure posted for cleaning up vomiting/diarrhea. No sign-off sheet for employees to report illness.

• Subway Restaurant, 31 E. Washington St., Sabina, April 13. Follow-up. Violations that have been corrected: 3701-21-2; 3.4; 4.6. Thank you! There is no employee who is Class II food safety certified.
