WILMINGTON — The Wilmington High School Class of 1960 held their 55th class reunion Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the General Denver.
Those that attended enjoyed visiting and getting reacquainted. During a brief class meeting it was announced that the next reunion will be a 75th birthday celebration held in 2017 and hosted by classmate Ed Kienle. All are encouraged to attend.
A memorial time was held honoring the 13 class members that have passed away since the 50th reunion. They are David Shaw, Barry Beatty, John Hansford, Curtis Duncan, Karen (West) Deck, Frances (Shaffer) Rosserottie, Thomas Belcher Jr., Jack Edwards, Karl Dunlap, Shirley (Raizk) Ellis, Ronald Dunn, Victoria (Swisshelm) Ames and Phillip Bennett.
A poem written by classmate Robert Quigley in 2000 was read by a fellow classmate, and each classmate received a new class roster.
The class of 1960 recognized its secretary, Ida Lee (Brewer) Cann for all her work throughout the year and on classmate updates.
The class continues to host a monthly luncheon on the second Wednesday of each month at the General Denver. For more information, call Kienle at 937-383-1015.
