Clinton County Sheriff’s reports

WILMINGTON — The following information comes from incident reports provided by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. All those arrested are presumed innocent until possibly proven guilty in court.

The sheriff’s office recently processed the following reports:

• At 4:27 p.m. on April 19, the Sheriff’s Office received a report that an East Clinton Schools employee had sent a male juvenile an inappropriate text message. The report indicates it happened between April 13 and 19. Authorities seized a Samsung Galaxy S7 cell phone as evidence. According to Eric Magee, Superintendent of East Clinton Local Schools, the employee was a non-certified employee. The case is currently under investigation.

• While performing a traffic stop at 12:53 a.m. on April 21 on U.S. 68 North a digital scale with white residue was located after consented search. Deputies also seized a spoon and a “small sticky note with numbers and weights listed.” The scale was sent to BCI for testing.

• Deputies were called to a possible overdose at the 300 block of Walnut Street in Port William 5 p.m. on April 21. According to the report, a tenant at the residence stated after he woke up from a nap his 49-year-old father was not breathing and was cold to the touch. The record indicates a spoon was taken as evidence.

• At 5:04 a.m. on April 25, a traffic stop was made on State Route 73 for a marked lane violation. According to the report, the vehicle was occupied by a female driver, a female passenger and two male passengers. A K-9 was called out and indicated the presence of narcotics. After conducting a search, drug paraphernalia was located.

• Deputies responded to the 12000 block of State Route 729 South in New Vienna on a theft report at 6:48 p.m. on April 23. The report lists $37,000 worth of farm equipment was stolen including 14 tractor weights, a bag of ball bearings, and two crescent wrenches.

• At 2:49 p.m. on April 20, a report was filed at East Clinton Middle School that two male juveniles were fighting in the hallway.

• At 12:01 p.m. on April 22, deputies were dispatched to the 1600 block of Davids Drive in Wilmington for an identity fraud complaint. According to the report, a 42-year-old male advised someone stole his identity and opened up a Sprint phone account with over $4,000 in charges.

• At 4:54 p.m. on April 23, a teenaged female reported that an unidentified suspect raped her in June 2016.

• Deputies were dispatched to the 1-99 block of Sassafras Lane in Wilmington for a building fire. Upon arrival, the vacant home was being torn down.

• At 10:44 a.m. on April 25, authorities responded to the 1-99 block of 2nd Street in Clarksville for a theft report. The report lists a black/purple military issued footlocker was stolen from a 51-year-old Midland male.

• Deputies responded to the 900 block of State Route 380 in Wilmington at 6:30 p.m. on April 25 for a missing juvenile report. The report lists a 16-year-old white female as the missing subject. No further information listed.

• Deputies were dispatched to the 1-99 block of Rod Lane in Wilmington for a disorderly male juvenile student who was pushing over computers.

Sheriff’s deputies recently charged the following people:

• Stephen Doan, 30, of Martinsville, was charged with assault. According to the report, a deputy was dispatched to a campground on State Route 350 West to investigate an alleged assault on a female subject. After arriving, Doan was arrested.

• Ernest Booher, Jr., 52, of Blanchester, was charged with aggravated menacing. According to the report, at 3 a.m. on April 27 a deputy located a parked vehicle in the roadway on State Route 28 near Midland where Booher was awakened and arrested for alleged O.V.I. after an investigation. The report states ttat Booher attempted to fight the deputy and threatened to kill him and his family.
