Wilmington woman dies, 3 injured in crash

WILMINGTON — An 82-year-old Wilmington woman passenger was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Friday afternoon on US 22 at Webb Road in Adams Township, Clinton County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Wilmington Post, at approximately 12:41 p.m. a westbound 2006 Buick LaCrosse sedan driven by Marilyn Stanley, 67, of Wilmington attempted to turn left to travel south on Webb Road. A 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac driven by Larry Johnson, 69, of Wilmington was traveling eastbound on US 22 and struck the Buick.

Both drivers were transported via ground to Clinton Memorial Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

The front passenger in the Buick, Virginia Stanley, 82, of Wilmington, was transported to CMH, where she was pronounced dead, according to the OSHP.

The front-seat passenger in the Ford Explorer Sport Trac, Donna M. Johnson, 73, of Lebanon was transported to CMH with non life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be involved, according to the OSHP. The crash remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were Wilmington Fire and EMS and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
