Great Oaks’ Snyder earns state honor

Great Oaks Career Campuses President/CEO Harry Snyder traveled to Columbus last week to watch Great Oaks administrative assistant Mary Beth Smith be installed as President of the Education Office Professionals of Ohio (EOPO).

When he arrived, he found that he was also being honored — as EOPO’s Educational Administrator of the Year.

“Mr. Snyder spends hours each week sitting in classrooms and connecting with students and teachers,” said award nominator Becky Beckstedt. “He uses this first-hand knowledge to continually improve the programs we offer as well as to improve the environment itself. As the leader of a large career-technical institution, he understands that continued success depends on serving the needs of our communities.

“Mr. Snyder manages to be everywhere: He sits on numerous boards of schools, colleges, non-profit organizations, Rotary, chambers of commerce and business and educational associations. He has testified on educational issues before committees of both the Ohio Legislature and the U.S. Congress.”

Snyder is a graduate of Leadership Clinton. His parents, Cooper and Dorothy, reside at Ohio Living Cape May in Wilmington.

He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a master’s degree in Education from Wright State University.

Snyder, of Batavia, has been President/CEO of Great Oaks Career Campuses since 2014.
