Have fun, learn in Pollinator Scavenger Hunt

The OSUE Clinton County Master Gardeners are kicking off their Educational Pollinator Scavenger Hunt 2017, open to the community and taking place June 15-26. There are 25 Clinton County business locations participating.

Start your hunt off by collecting a Pollinator Booklet at the Wilmington Public Library, the Clinton-Massie Branch, Clinton County Extension Office or Cowan Lake naturalist cabin. From there collect as many Pollinators stamps and place in your booklet as you can within the 12 days.

If you collect 13 Pollinator stamps, be one of the first 75 to get your Pollinator Garden Explorer Kit. This includes but is not limited to a t-shirt (children’s sizes S-L), Pollinator identification booklets, seeds and a bug catcher. Collect them all and get a book on Pollinators.

Additionally there are three special classes to check out:

• On Friday, June 16 at 2 p.m., Lowe’s will be hosting a class on what plants are pollinators.

• On Thursday, June 22 at 6 p.m., The Wilmington Public Library will be hosting a one-hour class on bees for children in first to fourth grade.

• The third Pollinator class will be on Saturday, June 24 at 3 pm, hosted by Cowan Lake at the naturalist cabin.
