The 48th annual reunion of the descendants of Charles and Daisy Botts was held Sunday at J.W. Denver Williams Jr. Memorial Park in Wilmington.
Family members shared a wonderful carry-in lunch, and Sharon Dome gave the prayer. A brief business meeting followed the meal. Joy Ames read the minutes from the 2016 reunion and they were approved as read.
An open invitation to Mary Ellen (John) Botts’ 90th birthday celebration was extended. The party will be held at Sharon Methodist Church, 5181 SR 380, Wilmington from 2-5 p.m. July 16. If you are unable to attend but would like to send a card, you may send it c/o Sharon Methodist Church. An additional 90th birthday celebration will be held in September for Eva (Elon) Botts.
The family of Julie Brown announced her marriage to Keet Bailey on Aug. 12, 2016. Nova Riggin Bailey was born Sept. 4, 2016 to Julie (Brown) and Keet Bailey. Sawyer Hinz was born to Derek and Julie Hinz (Paul Botts’ grandson and his wife) on Dec. 19, 2016. Jack David Lease was born Feb. 3, 2017 to Matt and Lily Lease (Susan Sharp Lease’s son and his wife).
The death of William (Mary Alice Botts) McConnell was recorded Jan. 21, 2017. Crystal Pennewitt graduated from the University of Findlay in May 2017.
Next year’s reunion will be held the Sunday after Father’s Day at J.W. Denver Williams Jr. Memorial Park, hosted by Dale and Jennie Brown.
The remainder of the day involved reminiscing and talking with relatives; a water balloon toss, which was enjoyed by all; and the children enjoyed the park’s facilities and the brand new splash pad.
