WILMINGTON — The hog barn at the Clinton County Fair was shut down by state officials Thursday due to an outbreak of the swine flu.

However, the Junior Fair Market Hog Show, one of the biggest of the fair, continued, according to Clinton County Agricultural Society Board Member Greta Gray.

“Only the exhibitors and their parents will be allowed to see the remainder of the show,” she said Thursday afternoon.

Gray said the gates remained open at the fair. Rides on the midway that aren’t affected by today’s rain will continue to operate.

However, the Truck Pull 4WD set for Thursday evening had to be cancelled.
