New Life offers new parenting classes

WILMINGTON — At the New Life Clinic a redesigned platform of parenting classes that kicked off in May is gaining momentum.

New Life Connections is a collection of one-hour workshops and multi-week classes that teach the various aspects of new life including pregnancy, parenting, and growth. The classes are intended to meet caregivers where they are and provide them with the skills needed to raise healthy kids and become a vital part of a family-friendly community.

Multi-week classes available include: Pregnancy & Parenting 101, Cooking on a Shoestring Budget, Authentic Manhood, Budgeting, Parenting on Purpose, and Basic Job Skills. Workshops are a little more varied and allow students to really focus on a specific topic of interest.

Titles include: Choosing Quality Childcare, Reading to Your Child, Basic First Aid, Managing Stress, and Co-Parenting.

New Life Connections is a free program offered to the clients of NLC as well as the general public. Childcare is available at no cost, but must be pre-arranged one week prior to the class.

Any questions can be directed to NLC Education Coordinator, Karla Barker, at 937-382-2424 or [email protected]. To view a schedule of upcoming classes and workshops, or to register, stop by the New Life Clinic at 100 S. South St. in downtown Wilmington any weekday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or visit them online at www.newlifesupport.org.
