60-year-old Bloomingburg man held in jail on 63 counts of alleged sex crimes against children

WASHINGTON C.H. — A 60-year-old man from Bloomingburg is in the Fayette County Jail on 63 counts of alleged sex crimes against two children.

Norman E. Moore, of 71 Biddle Blvd. Lot 11, was arrested July 3 on a grand jury indictment. He appeared for arraignment on the charges July 10 in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas.

The indictment alleges Moore committed 32 counts of rape, each a first-degree felony.

The indictment also alleges Moore committed 27 counts of gross sexual imposition, third-degree felonies, and four counts of gross sexual imposition, fourth-degree felonies.

Moore allegedly had sexual contact with a 9-year-old female that began in 2007 and continued for two years until December of 2009, according to the indictment.

Beginning in October 2016, Moore allegedly contacted another female child, who was between 13-15 years old, and forced the child to have sexual contact with him with repeated contact throughout February 2017.

Moore submitted an affidavit of indigency and the court appointed Kristina Oesterle to serve as Moore’s public defense attorney.

A jury trial in the case is on the schedule for Aug. 22 in the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas. Moore remains incarcerated with a $200,000 bond.
