The Wilmington Chapter of Modern Woodmen of America teamed up with Sugartree Ministries to help raise funds for Sugartree’s food ministry program. Proceeds of the fundraiser are being used to provide food for the services of Sugartree as they strive to meet the needs of residents of Clinton County who have fallen on hard times.

Sugartree hosted a golf outing at Majestic Springs on June 23 and raised $10,700. Modern Woodmen matched up to $2,500 of the fundraiser to bring the total proceeds to date to $13,200.

Ron Cordy, Sugartree Ministries Director and Golf Outing Chair said this about the outing: “We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from our community. It is only by the efforts of people that care and the grace of God that we are able to serve the poor, broken and lonely people in our city.”

Modern Woodmen District Agent, Dan Mayo said, “We were pleased to partner with Sugartree as we appreciate the values of this organization in helping families in our community that have need for food for their families and counseling for their lives. We are grateful for all they do to help families in Clinton County to meet their physical and spiritual needs. Modern Woodmen seeks quality organizations to work together to make its community a better place to live. Our Matching Funds program is one of our feature programs in accomplishing this objective.”
