High school football teams in Clinton County wrapped up their conditioning sessions Friday and are able to have full contact beginning with Saturday’s practices. The teams are preparing for their first scrimmages, which for Wilmington and Blanchester will be Tuesday. The Hurricane will travel to Hamilton for a 4 p.m. start while the Wildcats are at Little Miami at 3 p.m. Clinton-Massie will host Eaton 10 a.m. Wednesday. Wilmington will scrimmage at Alumni Field 10 a.m. Aug. 11 against Kings and Blanchester will be at Hillsboro 6 p.m. Aug. 11 to face former coach Jack O’Rourke and the Indians. East Clinton will hold its first scrimmage 7 p.m. Aug. 12 at Frankfort Adena. Also on Aug. 12, the Falcons will go to Edgewood for a 10 a.m. start and their last scrimmage of the preseason. The final scrimmages will be Aug. 18 — Wilmington 6 p.m. at Stebbins; Blanchester 7 p.m. at home with Greeneview; and East Clinton 7 p.m. at home with Southeastern.
