WILMINGTON — The splendor that is Paris coupled with intriguing Amsterdam will come alive in March when Wilmington College students, alumni, faculty and staff visit these great European capitals.

The College, which is hosting the study tour of Paris and Amsterdam March 10 through 18, will again open the spring break trip to interested community members and students from other colleges and universities.

In Amsterdam, the group will visit such sites as the famous city canals and the Anne Frank House while the Paris excursion will feature such landmarks as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre Museum and Notre Dame Cathedral. Optional day trips are available to the Dutch countryside and Versailles.

The tour will depart from Cincinnati tentatively on March 10, with a possibility of leaving a day earlier or later pending flight availability.

The tour is provided by EF (Education First) College Study Tours, the largest international student travel company in the world. The WC professors on this tour have been leading spring break tours to Europe with EF since 2006.

All flights, ground transportation, housing, admission fees and breakfasts are included in the cost, as are some dinners. Travelers are responsible for their midday meals, some dinners and incidental expenses. The cost for students and young adults under 30 is $3,120. Adults 30 and older pay $3,330, as they are housed in double rooms rather than triples and quads. Those under 30 may upgrade to double rooms by paying the adult rate, and anyone may upgrade to a single room as well.

Discounts will be offered for those that register this. Also, previous EF Tours or EF College Study Tour participants are eligible for an additional $100 discount. Registration will remain open until the middle of November or until all seats have been filled, whichever comes first.

For more information about the tour and application materials, contact Dr. Angela Mitchell (937-481-2211) or Dr. Jim FitzSimmons (937-481-2247) at Wilmington College. They will be teaching the course for those students taking the tour for college credit. Those class sessions are open to all tour members as they are designed to prepare travelers for what they will experience in France and the Netherlands.

A full itinerary and registration information are available at EF College Study Tours’ website: http://www.efcollegestudytours.com/professors-trip/1920692FN. The tour’s ID number is 1920692FN, and the group leader is Angela Mitchell.
